What Is PCI Compliance?

Payment Card Industry Compliance (PCI) is a set of network security and business practice guidelines adopted by Visa, MasterCard, American Express and  Discover Card to establish a “minimum security standard” to protect customer’s payment card information. It’s a requirement to be compliant for all merchants that store, transmit, or process payment card information.  The cost is incurred by all merchants and is for making sure that all merchants are maintaining PCI compliance.

Why should I Have To Pay For PCI Compliance?

Fines from Visa for mishandling card holder's data can run into the thousands for each occurrence.  Working with a PCI compliant processor helps to prevent such occurrences and also helps your customers build trust in your business.
